The ILO, SME Foundation and Ministry of Industries launched Bangladesh’s national BDS Portal to bring finance, training, licensing, advisory and market information into one place. The ILO announcement dated 29 June 2026 describes the portal as a response to fragmented support information for MSMEs.
What the portal is—and is not
It is a discovery and support gateway, not an automatic loan, licence or grant approval. Eligibility, documents, deadlines and decisions still belong to the relevant provider or authority.
The official BDS portal groups information for starting and growing a business. Entrepreneurs should follow links back to the issuing institution and record the date reviewed.
A five-step use case
Start with one defined need: trade licensing, finance, product standards, training or market access. Save the official programme name, provider, contact details and deadline. Download only current forms. Make a document checklist. Confirm by phone or official email when a condition is unclear.
For finance, distinguish a grant, loan, refinance scheme and credit guarantee. Ask the participating bank about its own underwriting, security, rate and fees. For training, confirm location, selection rules, attendance and whether a certificate is offered.
Build a reusable business file
Prepare NID and contact information, trade licence where applicable, TIN/VAT documents where required, bank statements, sales records, supplier invoices, product photos and a concise business plan. Never upload sensitive material to an unofficial form copied from social media.
Keep a simple opportunity tracker with source URL, date found, status, deadline, required documents and next action. An expired listing should remain marked expired rather than being shared as active.
Connect support to store execution
Training or finance has value only when it changes operations. Map each opportunity to a measurable goal such as improved bookkeeping, lower return rate, compliant packaging or a new sales channel. Use DokanEasy order exports and records as supporting evidence where a programme accepts them.
