Wholesale sounds simple until different buyers need different prices, minimum quantities, payment terms and approval rules. The right platform depends on whether B2B is occasional bulk ordering or a core sales channel.
Shopify’s important 2026 change
On 2 April 2026, Shopify announced that key native B2B features were expanding beyond Plus. Its official changelog says merchants on Basic, Grow and Advanced can start wholesale selling with native B2B tools.
The current feature-by-plan guide shows meaningful limits: Plus supports unlimited B2B market catalogues and advanced options such as deposits, partial payments and payment requests per fulfilment. Shopify is stronger for structured company accounts, catalogue pricing and complex global wholesale.
Where DokanEasy fits
DokanEasy is primarily positioned for Bangladesh-focused online retail, local payments, couriers, inventory and POS. A seller can still handle simple reseller or bulk orders through products, discounts and staff-managed quotations, but should not assume this equals Shopify’s native company-and-catalogue model.
DokanEasy can be the more proportionate choice when wholesale is a small share of orders, prices are negotiated manually and the business values local operational simplicity. Shopify deserves consideration when buyers need self-service terms, assigned catalogues and scalable B2B governance.
Test the workflow, not the label
Create two buyer companies with different price lists. Test a minimum carton quantity, tax invoice, credit terms, partial shipment, return, approval and customer-specific visibility. Ask which steps require an app, spreadsheet or manual intervention.
Calculate total cost including subscription, B2B apps, staff time, payment processing, foreign exchange and implementation. Do not compare a full B2B stack with a basic consumer storefront as though they solve the same problem.
Decision rule
Choose the smallest system that accurately enforces your wholesale rules. Review DokanEasy pricing, request a demonstration of your exact bulk-order flow and keep a clean export of customers, prices and orders.
Scope limitation: features and plan availability can change. Verify both platforms before signing a contract or promising buyer-specific terms.
