A retailer adding a physical counter should not compare only website subscription prices. The real decision includes staff access, stock movement, returns, compatible hardware, payment processing and the number of locations.
What Shopify publishes
Shopify’s official POS pricing page lists Basic from US$39 a month when paid monthly. Casual in-person features are included, while POS Pro is an additional US$89 per month for each location. POS Pro adds unlimited staff access, roles, inventory tools, cross-location returns and professional reports.
Those are substantial capabilities for complex retail. Shopify also says its POS can be used in nearly every country, but the full benefits of Shopify Payments and integrated Shopify hardware are limited to supported regions. A Bangladesh merchant should confirm hardware, acquiring and payout availability before budgeting.
Where DokanEasy can fit
DokanEasy’s published plans position inventory and POS tools for Bangladesh-focused sellers alongside local courier and payment workflows. Its practical advantage is local operational context and BDT-denominated planning, not a claim that it matches Shopify’s global ecosystem or multi-country retail depth.
Shopify is stronger when a merchant needs a mature global app ecosystem, sophisticated multi-location operations, international expansion or compatible first-party retail hardware in a supported market. DokanEasy can be the simpler fit for a smaller Bangladesh store that mainly needs one catalogue across online orders and a local counter.
Build a total-cost worksheet
List the online plan, POS upgrade per location, devices, barcode scanner, printer, cash drawer, payment gateway, apps, implementation help and staff training. Convert foreign-currency subscriptions using a conservative exchange rate and allow for card or bank charges.
Test five workflows before committing: sell the last unit online and in-store, return an online order at the counter, restrict a cashier’s permissions, reconcile COD with courier settlement, and export the stock report.
Decision rule
Choose Shopify when international scale and advanced retail workflows justify the higher and partly foreign-currency cost. Consider DokanEasy when local payments, couriers and a more compact Bangladesh operation are the priority. Review DokanEasy pricing and request demonstrations of the exact POS workflows you need.
