The rising-demand signal
IDC’s 2026 wearable-device outlook forecasts smart-glasses shipments at 13.6 million units in 2026, up 41.4% year over year, and nearly 27.3 million by 2030. IDC identifies display-less AI glasses, content capture and audio consumption as drivers, while noting that always-on AI is not yet the primary use case.
A forecast is not completed sales, and 41.4% growth can occur from a relatively small base. The category also contains materially different products: audio glasses, camera glasses, display devices and prescription frames.
Where a small seller can participate
Lower-risk adjacent products include model-specific cases, lens cloths, straps, non-electrical stands and prescription-lens coordination services with qualified partners. Charging cases, cables and batteries require verified compatibility and electrical safety information.
Privacy is part of product quality. Camera-equipped glasses can create consent and recording concerns. Product pages should explain visible recording indicators and local-use responsibilities without pretending to provide jurisdiction-specific legal clearance.
Build a compatibility catalog
Use exact model numbers, frame dimensions, charging connector and generation. Do not list a “universal” case until several models have been physically tested. Photograph the actual fit and state what is included.
Demand validation
Interview eyewear shops, content creators, cyclists and early adopters. Ask which model they own, which accessory is missing and what replacement cost they accept. A waitlist that records exact models is stronger evidence than general social views.
Start with three accessories and five units each. Track qualified inquiries, delivered orders, incompatible returns and repeat accessory purchases. Avoid buying deep stock before the installed base and local warranty channels are clear.
Merchandising
On DokanEasy, create model-specific variants and keep privacy/safety notes near the product description. Never imply affiliation with a glasses brand unless authorized, and do not copy promotional photos without permission.
Bottom line
Smart glasses have one of the strongest current wearable forecasts, but they remain an emerging, fragmented category. The practical opportunity is precise compatibility, accessories and education—not a blanket claim that every smart-glasses SKU will sell.
