The official SMEF event listing is the controlling source for the opportunity. A listing does not guarantee acceptance, funding or a particular curriculum.
Apply around a business problem
A useful application names a real bottleneck: repeated customer questions, messy order notes, product-description drafting, stock forecasting, invoice classification or campaign reporting. Avoid vague claims that AI will run the whole company.
Bring a small, anonymised example and define success. For example: reduce the time needed to draft ten product descriptions while maintaining a human fact check, or categorise customer questions without exposing personal data.
Prepare before the session
Record the tools you already use, the data fields available, who approves outputs and what must never be uploaded. Customer phone numbers, addresses, payment information, passwords and confidential supplier contracts should not be pasted into public AI tools.
Ask whether the training covers data protection, hallucination checks, Bangla/Banglish inputs, cost controls and audit trails—not only prompt demonstrations. Save the official agenda and trainer details when available.
A 30-day implementation test
Choose one low-risk task. Measure the manual baseline, use a limited pilot, review every output, log errors and stop if error cost exceeds saved time. High-impact decisions such as credit, hiring, refunds or legal compliance need accountable human review.
For ecommerce content, require source links for factual claims and prohibit invented prices, stock, reviews or certifications. Maintain one approved product-data sheet as the source of truth.
Store workflow
A merchant using DokanEasy can test AI on draft descriptions or support templates while keeping publication and order actions under staff approval. The training should improve a controlled process, not add an unmonitored automation.
