Sunscreen attracts product comparisons and price questions online, making it a plausible category to investigate. For a merchant, however, visible content is only the beginning. Supply authenticity, stock condition and clear product information matter alongside demand. This article studies retail signals; it does not recommend a sunscreen or provide medical treatment advice.
The evidence sample and its limits
Search-indexed metadata for Ashraf Niloy’s budget-sunscreen video, dated 9 April 2026, showed about 30,700 cumulative views on retrieval. This confirms visible product-discussion content in the sample, not verified buyer location or purchases. The full video was unavailable for inspection; its recommendations and health claims are not endorsed here.
The Shajgoj storefront identifies sunscreen among its retail categories. Search also surfaced a public Shajgoj-branded Facebook sunscreen promotion, but direct access did not reveal a reliable current date or engagement dataset. It is evidence of indexed promotional content only; its offer is not presented as active. No private Facebook groups were read.
Why this is not a sales ranking
A creator’s cumulative views, a retailer’s category navigation and an indexed promotion measure different things. None provides daily national sell-through. Without a comparable time series, the sample also cannot show that attention is increasing. The defensible conclusion is that sunscreen appears in public discovery and retail content, making it suitable for a controlled demand test.
If using Google Trends for a later comparison, remember that its normalized search-interest scale is not a count of purchases. This review did not obtain a Bangladesh Trends export. Do not attach an invented index or convert search attention into revenue projections.
Verify the supply before testing the offer
Ask the supplier for traceable invoices, batch information and expiry details. Inspect the actual packaging and storage instructions. A low price or popular brand name does not itself establish authenticity. Do not use a batch-code check alone as a guarantee that an item is genuine, and do not advertise an authorized relationship without evidence.
Build the page from the specific product’s current label: quantity, manufacturer, stated protection claims, ingredient information where available, expiry and relevant instructions. Avoid adding whitening, acne-treatment or universal suitability claims to improve conversion. Questions about individual skin conditions belong with a qualified clinician rather than a sales script.
Test demand at SKU level
Start with a limited assortment you can replenish from a documented source. Record enquiries by product, pack size and price, then measure paid orders, delivery and complaints. Keep an expiry-ageing sheet so slow-moving stock is visible. A popular category can still contain a poorly matched or uneconomic SKU.
Offer clear delivery and return information without obscuring hygiene or product-condition requirements. Review the cost of returns and support alongside the gross margin. Use our product validation worksheet before expanding. Public attention can suggest what to investigate; retained customer purchases and responsible sourcing determine whether the assortment deserves more capital.
